GREENSBORO - Thanksgiving for many is about rejoicing in an array of culinary delights.

On Sunday, participants in the 24th Ecumenical Celebration of Thanksgiving exalted a different kind of plenitude - that of various local cultures and religions.

Called "Many notes, one symphony," the event spoke about unity by embracing the uniqueness in people's different backgrounds and religions.

The Piedmont Interfaith Council, the Greensboro Human Relations Commission and the National Conference for Community and Justice sponsored it.

"Our unity crosses cultures, faiths and even time. So in a spirit of unity between our past and present, we honor the people who shaped our lives for the better," said Christopher Ware, a N.C. A&T student who was the event's leader.
