On August 10, 2003 Pioneer Press columnist Rubén Rosario reported on attempts by local faith-based and secular organizations to unite to fight crime: "When it comes to dealing with crime, it is often a matter of faith where the victims seek spiritual solace or redress. But seeking secular justice or help is often absent. This week, religious leaders in Ramsey County and those who work with crime victims will embark on an ambitious and unprecedented attempt to consolidate those services and bridge a divide of philosophies."
