Bayonne marked the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks last week with an interfaith service and candlelight vigil at the foot of the 9/11 memorial at Harborview Park at the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor.
"It's great to see so many people coming out to honor those lost on that tragic day," said Frank Perucci, the chairman of the Sept. 11/Bayonne Remembers Committee, who numbered the crowd at approximately 600.
"I don't think people will ever forget those attacks, especially not here in Bayonne."
Many families and friends of the 13 Bayonne residents killed on Sept. 11 were in attendance, in addition to community members ranging from high school students to City Council members.
