Description

Vipassana is the focus of their practice. It is believed that through Vipassana, one can arrive at mindfulness and equanimity. These are cultivated to foster the deepening of wisdom and compassion, which they hold to be gateways to liberation and freedom. The Insight Meditation Sangha (or Wildflower Sangha) of Austin also organizes yearly retreats. Group members often go on retreats at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California, Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts and Southwest Vipassana Meditation Center in Texas.

Location and Directions

Insight Meditation Sangha does own property per se, but members meet in their private homes or at the local Yoga studio.
