On April 30, 2004 News India-Times reported, "Colorful floats, Bhangra and religious fanfare marked the 17 Annual Sikh Day Parade at Manhattan in New York on April 24. The parade was organized by the Sikh Cultural Society of Richmond Hill Gurdwara with the help of the gurdwaras in the Tri-state area to mark the anniversary of the founding of the Khalsa Panth and the beginning of the new year, Vaisakhi... The parade comprised 11 floats, each on a Sikh religious symbol or guru put together by a gurdwara from the Tri-state area."
