On November 28, 2003 the Times Chronicle reported that Congregation Kol Ami now owns property in Meadowbrook, though it remains to be seen whether it will be able to establish a synagogue there. "More than four years after signing an agreement of sale for the 10.9-acre tract, Kol Ami settled on the property Monday, paying just over $1 million to the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, which at one time had a convent and chapel at the site... In July 2001 U.S. District Court Judge Clarence C. Newcomer ruled that Abington Township's zoning ordinance, which has not permitted places of worship in residential-zoned districts since 1990, was unconstitutional as applied to Kol Ami."
