Youth Arrested for Vandalizing Sikh Temple

On April 23, 2003 The Spokane Review reported that "the racist graffiti sprayed across the walls of a Spokane Valley Sikh temple was allegedly the work of a 14 year old... Sheriff's detectives arrested a teenager who lives near the Sikh temple Tuesday afternoon. All day long, community members shocked by the crime stopped by or called the temple to leave words of encouragement and support... The young suspect, booked into juvenile detention on suspicion of second-degree burglary, allegedly spray-painted a swastika and racist slogans on the temple walls. Money and religious artifacts were stolen during the weekend break-in."
