A mosque in Nottingham badly damaged in a fire is being repaired with help from the local community after an insurance claim was rejected.

The Forest Fields mosque was targeted by arsonists in April but insurance has not been paid out as an alarm was not switched on at the time of the fire.

Imam Raza ul Haq said the local community had rallied around to help rebuild the Madni Masjid Mosque.

So far £25,000 has been raised and workmen have donated practical help.

"The insurance company has raised quite a few questions because at the time of the fire, the alarm was not on due to building works," said Imam Haq.
