Western Kentucky University Students Have Range of Local Worship Options

On September 8, 2005 the Western Kentucky University Herald reported, "Many students have difficulty finding a place to worship after enrolling at Western. Other students may have trouble adjusting to new venues of worship... Several religions are represented on campus including Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Baha'i, Christianity, Hinduism and Jainism. Other religions also may be represented on campus... 'I would encourage every student to search for meaning and truth and search with intellectual honesty,' [Tommy Johnson, campus minister and service director of the Baptist Student Union] said. Johnson said as students transition into adulthood, it is vital for them to discover their spiritual identity. 'It's critically important to search for spiritual answers, meaning and truth,' he said."
