On April 2, 2004 Religion & Ethics Newsweekly's cover story was on the subject of spiritual care for cancer patients: "To better prepare clergy and lay leaders, Washington Hospital Center offers a three-day intensive training program that attracts a diverse religious group. Its goal is to help them better understand what cancer patients endure. This rare glimpse into the world of a cancer patient includes a crash course in the causes and treatments of cancer." The report went on to interview various patients and clergy from various faiths, including Christianity, Islam and Unitarian Universalism.
