On September 21, 2002 The Virginian-Pilot reported that "in... two weeks, the 2002-03 season of the Nexus interfaith dialogue program begins... [E]ach of these public forums will showcase one faith group at a time. Five to seven panelists representing one local congregation will tell... about their faith. Within the month following each presentation, the Nexus audience will visit a worship service of the featured faith group... Recently, PBS's 'Frontline' did an online interview with [Diana] Eck, who is a Harvard professor of comparative religion and Indian studies. Eck is also the director of 'The Pluralism Project,' which she launched in 1991 to investigate the growing religious diversity of our country and how it affects our society and culture. In the interview, it was noted that in these post-9/11 days, many Americans are realizing that we cannot be 'religious isolationists.'"
