On April 18, 2003 The Tampa Tribune reported that "USF student Jashleen Bedi doesn't find anything funny about the comedy film 'Dysfunktional Family...' When Bedi saw a trailer for the recently released movie, she was outraged by its portrayal of her Sikh religion... For Bedi, it was the final indignity she was willing to endure. Since Sept. 11, she has watched her family and friends become victims of fear and ignorance... The 21-year-old college senior decided to start her own effort to educate the public. Bedi and friends from her temple set out Thursday to teach people on the University of South Florida campus about Sikhs."
