The US Senate on Monday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the Iranian government’s persecution of members of the Baha’i faith, the country’s largest religious minority.
According to the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United States, the resolution was the 11th congressional resolution since 1982 to address the religious oppression of Baha’is in the Islamic Republic.
The resolution is concurrent to a similar resolution passed in the US House of Representatives in October.
