US Cops Taught about Sikhism

PATIALA: A beautiful gurdwara in Pittsburgh notwithstanding, a police detective Julie Stoops is among those who openly admit she was completely ignorant of Sikhism.

But last Wednesday, a seminar sponsored by the US department of justice’s community relations service, designed to teach local agencies about Arab, Muslim and Sikh cultures, taught 75 Pennsylvania law-enforcement officers about these communities during a four-hour seminar at the Allegheny County Police Academy.
