On December 17, 2004 The San Francisco Chronicle reported, "a Richmond man has been arrested for his role in the robbery and shooting of a U.S. postal worker in North Oakland, court records show. Erique Dunte Dixon of Richmond was charged Monday in U.S. District Court in Oakland with assaulting postal worker Harjit Singh Surajbansi, 32, at about 5 p.m. on Nov. 10 at 57th and Genoa streets. Surajbansi told The Chronicle on Thursday that he had been returning to his truck when three men punched him in the face, robbed him of $25 and his cell phone and shot him in the leg. Surajbansi said he had also been robbed a year ago, several blocks away."
