On June 20, 2005 the Daily Press Newspaper reported, "Two Victorville teens were arrested Sunday afternoon on suspicion of shooting and burning what remained of a mosque that was burned earlier this month. Allan Pichel, 18, was booked into the Victor Valley jail on suspicion of arson and felony vandalism. The 16-year-old who was with Pichel was booked into the West Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Apple Valley, Sgt. Bobby Hernandez, of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, said. Deputies said it is unclear if the two were involved with the fire that gutted the mosque, owned by the United Islamic Youth Organization, on June 3. 'We do not know if these were the suspects to the original arson,' Hernandez said. 'They denied any knowledge of today's fire and or the original fire.' The two teens were spotted shooting weapons at buildings by a man and woman who were visiting the cemetery on the mosque grounds in northern Adelanto, near the former George Air Force Base, Sunday afternoon."
