On November 9, 2005 the Rocky Mountain News reported, "Two Air Force officers have filed a motion to oppose a lawsuit intended to stop religious proselytizing at the Air Force Academy and across the Air Force. The Alliance Defense Fund, a conservative Christian group co-founded by Focus on the Family head James Dobson, filed the motion Tuesday on behalf of Air Force Maj. James Glass, a chaplain, and Capt. Karl Palmberg, a fighter pilot. The motion charged that the lawsuit 'seeks to silence religious speech in the Air Force.' The lawsuit filed by former Air Force Academy graduate Mikey Weinstein and joined by four Air Force officers claims that evangelical Christian officers and cadets illegally impose their religion on others at the school by proselytizing. The Air Force issued guidelines in August forbidding proselytizing after complaints of religious intolerance by cadets and others at the academy."
