On September 10, 2006 the Observer and Eccentric Newspapers reported, "With the belief that knowledge opens the path to understanding and acceptance, the Troy Interfaith Group is inviting residents to step inside a different faith community each month. The group will host free visitations at a different house of worship every month beginning at 7 p.m. today at the Bharatiya Temple, a Hindu temple located at 6850 Adams Road. Visitors will be greeted by temple members and are encouraged to ask questions about different aspects of the Hindu faith. Padma Kuppa, a member of both the Troy Interfaith Group and Bharatiya Temple, said the visitation events are another way to raise awareness about the diverse landscape in Troy. 'We've always wanted to do the visitation as a hope that people will better understand each other,' she said. Future visitation sites and dates have yet to be announced, said Kuppa. For more information, call the Bharatiya Temple at (248) 879-2552."
