GREENSBORO, N.C. - The audience members closed their eyes and slowly clenched and relaxed each part of their bodies, from toes to cheeks and mouth.

They slumped in their seats.

Under the dim lights of the Broach Theatre, a small crowd of people meditated, seeing themselves in a different landscape of rivers, waterfalls and doors leading to secret rooms. Aside from their narrator's voice, the only sounds were air blowing somewhere behind the stage and an occasional cough.
