On January 2, 2006 Voice of America reported, "A high Tibetan Buddhist teacher, who earlier blessed South Africa is on a blessing tour of Antarctica. The Venerable Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche, a highly regarded Tibetan teacher, is undertaking a blessing tour of Antarctica at the request of his Western disciples. Last month he visited and blessed South Africa. A secretary who has been traveling with the Buddhist teacher, Amy Miller, says his blessing had a positive influence on the people of South Africa. She says his blessing will also have a positive environmental influence when he visits the icy continent. 'The cruise will be there in January for 11 days,' she said. 'And he does a lot of blessings of waters, land, lakes, mountains, streams, and we found that there are a lot of positive environmental changes after Rinpoche rituals, puja, blessing. It is significant. So there was some encouragement by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Rinpoche is traveling with very blessed waters from various great lamas all over the world.'"
