On August 5, 2003 the Colorado Daily reported that "Dr. Thomas Bowen Coburn has officially taken up his duties as the new president of Naropa University (Boulder, Colo.), Naropa officials announced Tuesday... Coburn was chosen last January as president of the Buddhist college, after an extensive search process that included input from the institution's board of trustees, administration, faculty and students. Coburn's inauguration will take place Nov. 1 on the campus, which sits just north of the CU campus off Arapahoe Street."
