On September 21, 2005 the Daily Post reported, "Liverpool's faith communities will be walking across the water this weekend to celebrate the unity of Merseyside's diverse religions. This Sunday is Merseyside's third Walk of Faith in which followers of the area's main religions march together. For the first time the procession will also take a trip over the water to the Wirral and visit the Birkenhead Priory... Liverpool people of all faiths have been invited to join in a walk to explore their common beliefs of compassion, justice and the search for peace. Organisers of the walk said after the London bombings and killing of Anthony Walker it was more important than ever that different communities came together. Canon Bob Wilkes is the chair of the Council of Faiths, and will be leading the walk with leaders of the Baha'i, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, Christian, Quaker and Jewish communities."
