Police are looking to the public to help identify suspects that may be stealing valuables from cars at a number of Sikh temples throughout the Lower Mainland.
The suspects seem to be targeting the South Asian community by breaking into vehicles outside Sikh temples, or gurdwaras, and South Asian markets, said Const. Ian MacDonald.
“There appears to be only one incident in Abbotsford, but the investigator has tied (the crime) to other temples,” he said.
The Abbotsford incident took place on Oct. 31 at the Sahib Kalgidhar Darbar Gurdwara on Blueridge Drive at 12 p.m.
A Honda CR-V parked outside the gurdwara was broken into and a purse was stolen.
