A Hightstown High School graduate accused of burning a Sikh student's headpiece last year has been admitted into a program for first-time offenders.
Garrett Green, 19, was required by Superior Court Judge Gerald Council to perform volunteer work for a Sikh organization and participate in a diversity training program, said Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
Green, a 2008 graduate, was a senior at the school when he was charged with setting fire to a small turban worn by a 16-year-old Sikh student during a school fire drill.
