On March 9, 2005 the BBC News reported, "A plan to convert a Swansea hotel into a Buddhist meditation centre has brought objections from neighbours claiming it may create too much noise. People living near the Windsor Lodge Hotel fear being kept awake by 'loud prolonged late night chanting'. But the applicants say the centre would be less noisy than a hotel as there are no televisions, loud music or alcohol, to encourage a 'peaceful atmosphere'. Swansea's planning committee will visit the hotel before making a decision."
