On July 19, 2003 the Los Angeles Times reported that "a survey of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) found that most of its members believe Jesus is 'the only absolute truth,' but many also reject the idea that only followers of Christ will be saved... About 70% of congregants and pastors surveyed said Christ was 'the only absolute truth,' while a little more than 40% believed that Jesus was the single path to salvation."
