On November 13, 2001, The Washington Post featured an article about Steven Emerson, "The man who gives terrorism a name: Expert's finger-pointing troubles Muslim groups." It reported, "His slashing accusations that some Muslim groups in the United States tolerate terrorism draw denunciations from groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations...which calls Emerson 'A Muslim-basher with a long history of defamatory and inacurate attacks on the American Muslim community.'" Since September 11, Emerson has been in great demand by government officials and the media.
