City council is set to make a decision next Monday on an application for a Sikh temple on Clair Road East, with city planning staff recommending that the rezoning be approved.

Council’s monthly planning meeting at 7 p. m. June 7 at city hall will deal with the controversial application, with has faced considerable opposition from some people living near the site at 410 Clair Rd. E.

Some changes have been made to the application since a second public meeting held on March 1, a staff report says. These include moving the temple further east on the site to permit a greater buffer between existing homes on Laughland Lane and the temple’s parking area.
