On November 12, 2005 The Star reported, "The Seck Kia Eenh Temple in Malacca, which is hosting the second general conference of the World Buddhist Sangha Youth (WBSY) from Dec 9 to 11, is looking for sponsors for the conference. The conference themed 'Unity and Religious Harmony', which will be held at the temple premises, is aimed at providing an avenue for young Buddhist monks and nuns who need the advice of the noble teacher, the Buddha, to carry out Dhammaduta work. The event will also enable monks and nuns to exchange ideas and share experiences. Seck Kia Eenh (SKE) temple president Chan Kim Lay said that 300 monks and nuns, mainly from the Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana sects from 43 countries, would attend the conference. Among the highlights of the event are the official opening of the temple’s new SKE kindergarten building and mass blessing of Buddhist devotees."
