Plans for a Sikh temple have been put on hold while councillors visit the site.

Members of Preston Council's planning committee will go to the empty warehouse in Isherwood Street, Deepdale, before deciding whether to grant permission.

Applicant Gulab Singh, president of the Sikh community known as Sri Guru Arjan Dev Gurdwara, wants to convert the building to a place of worship and community centre for up to 80 people.

A petition of 121 signatures has been handed to the council with objections citing increase in traffic, congestion and parking problems.
