On November 20, 2002 the Long Beach Press Telegram reported that "terrorism isn't likely to go away anytime soon, experts warned at the Police Department's monthly crime prevention meeting Wednesday night. Nonetheless, Americans should not use the continued threats as an excuse to lash out against other Americans, particularly those in the Sikh community. The meeting, held at the Long Beach Water Department, included experts from the Sikh community and Sgt. Erik Herzog, with the Long Beach Police Department's Organized Crime/Intelligence Unit. Herzog said more terrorist attacks are expected both in the United States and abroad, specifically among our allied nations. Because of this, residents need to be aware of their surroundings and keep informed of both local and global developments, he said."
