POPULAR Sikh radio station is back on the air in the city for a month to celebrate the birth of Guru Nanak - one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar.

Sangat Radio hit the airwaves last Wednesday (November 1) and will broadcast until November 28.

The community station was piloted last year in December and over 88 per cent of Sikh and Punjabi households in the city - around 20,000 listeners - tuned in.

This year it will broadcast 24 hours a day from the Ramgarhia Temple in Foleshill Road. All programmes are produced by volunteers, and they cover a wide range of topics and audiences.
