ATTOCK: Sharmani Gurdwara Parbandak Committee India leader Muhinder Singh Roomana and other Sikh pilgrims praised the Pakistani government’s arrangements for their visit to Pakistan.

He told reporters at Gurdwara Punja Sahib, Hassan Abdal on Tuesday that the pilgrims had come to Pakistan with high hopes and they had been more than fulfilled.

He said that the people of Pakistan were loving and caring and knew how to treat their guests. He said that thousands of pilgrims visited the religious places in Pakistan and always returned satisfied.

He said that the Indian government must also allow Pakistanis to visit sacred places in India and should ensure their facilitation. He said that the Indian prime minister wanted to continue the peace process, which would be beneficial for both countries. He appreciated the religious freedom given to the Sikh pilgrims and said that they felt at home in Pakistan.

He said that to overcome the problem of the pilgrims’ accommodation, the Evacuee Trust Board should build colleges at Nankana Sahib and Hassan Abdal, which would also help increase the literacy rate in the area. He said that the visa for the Amiritsar-Lahore bus service should be issued at Amritsar instead of Delhi.
