Head priest Gyani Jaswinder Singh, who leads the Golden Temple in Punjab, India, is the expected special guest at Stockton's 11th annual Sikh Parade. And members of Stockton's Sikh Temple, the group's oldest sanctuary in North America, invite the public to partake in the Sunday celebration.

"It's a big deal. Our head priest has accepted the invitation and is coming," said Sonny Dhaliwal, a member of the temple management committee. "People are very excited."

The parade is expected to attract 15,000 to 20,000 people, a turnout that should accentuate Stockton's diversity, organizers said.

"Everybody is invited regardless of their beliefs," Dhaliwal said. "We believe in universal brotherhood."
