Amritsar, Oct 8: Dr. Rajwant Singh, Chairman of the Sikh Council on Religion and Education, USA has stated that the Sikh community needs to make efforts in the US to get its recognition in the country.

In a telephonic interview, Singh said that despite living in the US for over 100 years, the Sikh community has not made a collective presence on the political front.

It was only, in 1993, when President Bill Clinton invited him as a Sikh leader to the White House and that trend continued till Bill Clinton was in power.
