On June 30, 2005 The Tribune reported, "Demolition of the school structure, perhaps, that’s not what the Khalsa Boys’ Primary School authorities would expect in its diamond jubilee year. But, that’s what the school, established in 1930 on the premises of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib got as a gift from the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). Guru Harkishan Girls Senior Secondary School, also located on the same premises, had also been razed to the ground.

Why the school buildings located in historic gurdwaras for several decades have been demolished, is a question uppermost on the lips of parents. 'Beautification of the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib complex,' is the rationale that one gets from the DSGMC for their action. School structures, considered to be temples of learning, were eyesores to the lakhs of devotees who throng the gurdwara each year."
