On September 12, 2005 The Muslim News reported, "'Wizard,' a drama movie directed by Azeri Oktai Mir-Kasym, took the grand prize at the first International Muslim Film Festival, Golden Minbar, held in Tatarstan's capital Kazan from September 5-11. Zaudi Mamirgov, the general director of the festival, said Iranian movie director Mohammad Reza Fathi Najafi was awarded best documentary for his 'Children of Adam' movie about the consequences of an earthquake in Iran and people of different religions united by the tragedy... The festival featured 154 movies from more than 20 countries. Twenty-four films from Iran, Azerbaijan, Bashkortostan, Tajikistan, Tatarstan, Egypt, the United Kingdom, Kyrgyzstan, Canada, Lithuania, Quatar, Uzbekistan, Turkey and the United States were singled out for a demonstration. The Russian Council of Muftis, Islamic World TV, Tatarstan's Culture Ministry and the Russian Federal Culture and Cinema Agency organized the festival."
