A strong civil society movement in Kolkata is spurring up against the killing of 30-year old Rizwan-Ur Rahman, a Muslim youth killed allegedly for marrying a Hindu girl. Two senior IPS officers, who are accused in this case, were summoned to the CID headquarters in Kolkata for interrogation on Saturday.

Deputy commissioner Gyanwant Singh and his counterpart in the detective department of Kolkata, Ajay Kumar were summoned for interrogation by the Bengal CID. But the investigating agency had little to reveal.

"They have been examined and their statements have been recorded," said Neeraj Narayan Pandey DIG (CID), West Bengal.

Precautions were taken to keep the two officers away from public glare. They were called early in the morning and avoided using their departmental vehicles. But after getting separately grilled for about five hours, the two looked exhausted. The victim's family though is not satisfied with the development.
