On November 10, 2001, The Tampa Tribune reported that "America's sudden awareness of Islam has a local school district...suggesting a lunchtime alternative for Muslim students during Ramadan, a holy month of daylight fasting that starts Nov. 17." Schools in the district may begin "asking parents whether they prefer their children spend time in the library or another class instead of in the cafeteria during lunch."
