On October 7, 2004 Galway Advertiser reported, "Sikhism is a religion practised by some 22.5 million people worldwide, but while the image of the Sikh man with long hair tied up and wearing a turban is famous, what is the religion about? One local Sikh businessman in Galway provides the answers. Ravinder Gill is a Sikh who has been living in Galway since 1986. He is a director of Maspac, a specialist contract developer and manufacturer of medical devices, based in the Mervue Business Park. It's there I meet him to talk about the Sikh religion and the important role it plays in his life."
