On April 15, 2006 CBS2.com reported, "Sikhs wear turbans that are conspicuous to other Americans, but they are not Muslims, Arabs or terrorists. 'Post-9/11 bias' and other issues that affect the global Sikh community will be among the topics discussed at Sunday's Sikh Dharma's Baisakhi 2006 meeting at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Sheriff Lee Baca and Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Sherman Oaks, are among the government officials expected to speak at the meeting... Sunday's daylong Baisakhi festival will also include a two-mile parade through downtown consisting of 13 floats representing the principles of Sikhism."
