On August 18, 2003 the Religion Newswriters Association issued a report on the endurance of interfaith organizations formed in reponse to Sept. 11: "the initial interfaith worship services, open houses and dialogues after 9/11 sowed seeds of lasting relationships. Leaders and observers of interfaith efforts say that is most evident in grass-roots efforts to tackle community problems, such as poverty, crime, homelessness and health care."
