Religious rituals as seen through the lenses of regular people form the heart of an art exhibit opening Sunday at the Cathedral Cultural Center.
"Images of Faith: Public and Private Rituals" includes more than 70 pictures taken by local photographers. Project Interfaith and the Cathedral Arts Project had invited people to photograph the community and personal role of rituals in five world religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism.
The exhibit includes ritual objects from those faiths. A discussion guide aims to help people understand the rituals and how they illustrate core beliefs and practices.
The exhibit also aims to show local religious diversity, said Beth Katz, Project Interfaith executive director.
