On September 21, 2005 The Digital Collegian reported, "Penn State's 59 student religious groups now have a voice in student government. A new Undergraduate Student Government (USG) executive cabinet position was filled at last night's Senate meeting, which creates a liaison between USG and the Center for Ethics and Religious Affairs (CERA). Lauren Mack, an Undergraduate Fellow at CERA, was confirmed as the new USG Ethics and Religious Affairs executive... [CERA Director Sharon Mortensen] said the Fellows' main role is to spread 'more awareness of the diversity of religious and spiritual groups on campus.'"
