Pakistan PM Receives Delegation of Canadian Sikhs

On January 14, 2006 the Indo-Asian News Service reported, "Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz met a delegation of Sikhs from Canada here and said the country had a special relationship with the community, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported. Aziz told the delegation that the government was taking full care of the Sikh places of worship in the country and trying to extend all possible facilities to the visiting pilgrims.

The delegation of 'Khalsa Dewan Society of New West Ministers', headed by Ajit Singh Badh, presented a cheque for 527,132 Canadian dollars for the victims of the Oct 8 earthquake.

Thanking the delegation for the donation, Aziz said the gesture would help promote harmony among different faiths."
