On October 19, 2001, The Los Angeles Times included the article "Post-Attack Incident to Draw Hate Charge" which reported that "rage over Sept. 11 prompted a Fullerton man to chase and threaten a Sikh couple, prosecutors say." Another local incident, in which an elderly Iranian couple was threatened while walking down the street, may also be prosecuted as a hate crime.
