On May 21, 2003 the Omaha World-Herald reported that "for the past decade, Omaha's only Hindu temple looked more like the restaurant it used to be than a place of prayer and worship... After a one-year make-over, the temple has been transformed... A cream-colored building adorned with ornate columns has emerged, topped with an intricately carved 24-foot tower that includes an image of Ganesha, the elephant-headed god... 'This is a dream come true,' said Nina Mote, a temple member and spokeswoman. 'Every Indian is so proud. We come in here and say, 'It's my temple...' The temple will open its doors today, giving Omahans their first chance to see the work."
