On April 6, 2005 The Daily O'Collegian reported, "Stillwater residents and Oklahoma State University faculty members and students concerned about the political direction of the nation recently formed the Progressive Interfaith Coalition in the wake of the 2004 presidential campaign. The coalition was established because of the concern about 'The lack of challenge to the fringe fundamentalist group movements that dominated our political discourse of morality and values,' according to the coalition’s Web site."
