Syracuse fire officials are investigating the cause of a basement explosion that forced the evacuation of a private Islamic school.

Authorities said it's too early to say whether the explosion at 3:30 p.m. Thursday was intentional or accidental. Fire investigator Lt. Ken Heffernan said there will be a thorough investigation. All 75 students were safely evacuated.
