Janice Brown is divorced, has an MBA and a child. She is also a nun.
Brown, a 50-year-old Fraser resident, and director of the Dominican Literacy Center on the east side, is not what you'd expect to find in an order of nuns.
Today the women in the Adrian Dominican Sisters serve as doctors, university presidents, lawyers and hospital administrators.
And don't look for the other familiar trappings of nuns, either: Gone is the traditional daily wearing of the habit. It has been replaced by secular attire.
